Today, U.S. Representative Gary Peters (MI-14) released the following statement on his vote in support of H.R. 4, the Jobs for America Act:

"There is no such thing as a perfect bill, and I oppose efforts to weaken environmental and consumer safety protections. However, this bill also contains many provisions that are critical to Michigan's economic growth, including expanding the research and development tax credit, extending small business expensing and helping to hire more veterans. I have supported these commonsense economic policies so that Michigan small businesses can grow their businesses, create new jobs and help strengthen our economy and the middle class.
