Peters Recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month

Statement

Date: Sept. 15, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Gary Peters (MI-14) released the following statement recognizing Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed every year from September 15th to October 15th:

"Every year, Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates the many cultural, economic and political contributions the Latino community has made to the foundation of America. Latinos are one of the fastest growing ethnic groups in the country, and the Hispanic community continues to enrich our nation through contributions in everything from government to arts to business.

"The Hispanic community also exemplifies America's entrepreneurial spirit, with new Hispanic businesses growing at twice the national average. I'm proud to support policies that help our small businesses and entrepreneurs grow and create new jobs in Michigan and across the country. This Hispanic Heritage Month I hope you will join me in celebrating the American values that we all share--hard work, faith, family and love of country."
