Senator Lee Zeldin, Republican and Conservative Party candidate for Congress in New York's First Congressional District, released the second of a three part series this week on three reasons why it's time to Term Limit Tim relating to the economy and jobs.

"Over the past 12 years, Congressman Bishop has supported trillions of dollars in higher taxes and wasteful spending. His countless votes for job killing taxes, like Obamacare, have been driving businesses and jobs off Long Island. With the high cost of living and even higher tax rates, New York is already a tough place to do business. We should be focused on improving the business climate here and creating good paying private sector jobs, instead of discouraging economic growth and job creation. Unfortunately, Obamacare does just that.

Obamacare's employer mandate will further prevent businesses from growing, as health care costs rise. We have already begun to see that small businesses are making hiring decisions based on the Obamacare requirements on companies with over 50 employees. Many employers have already begun decreasing employees' hours from full time to part time to avoid this mandate. Another serious issue is that under Obamacare, full time hours have been reduced from a 40 hour work week to a 30 hour work week. This is a complete mistake because it encourages more employers to keep employees under 30 hours a week. The Congressional Budget Office has reported that by 2024 Obamacare will significantly reduce the size of the labor force, cutting the amount of full time workers by 2.5 million.

Additionally, business owners are passing down to their employees the increased costs for employer health care coverage. Many in the work force will have to pay more for a less preferable policy.

The incumbent is completely out of touch with reality on Obamacare. He still claims on his website that if you like your doctor you can keep your doctor and if you like your plan you can keep your plan.

We must stop Obamacare before things get worse. My opponent continues to say that Republicans have no plan to replace Obamacare even though he knows that is completely untrue. There have been countless Republican proposals to replace Obamacare with a more efficient system. We can and must do better than Obamacare."
