National Rifle Association Endorses Foxx

Congresswoman Virginia Foxx today announced that the National Rifle Association (NRA) has endorsed her campaign for Congress. Foxx, a lifetime member of the NRA, received the five-million-member NRA's endorsement for her strong pro-Second Amendment voting record in the 113th Congress.

"The Founders did not make a mistake when they enshrined the right to bear arms in our Bill of Rights," Foxx said. "At a time when Washington liberals--including our current President--continue to stir up hostility towards law-abiding Americans' right to keep and bear arms, I am proud to stand up for their Second Amendment rights. It is an honor to receive the NRA's endorsement of my pro-gun rights record."

Foxx has consistently voted to preserve the constitutional protections given to American gun owners in the Second Amendment, earning the NRA's "A" rating. During the 113th Congress she voted for H.R. 3590, the Sportsmen's Heritage and Recreational Enhancement (SHARE) Act, a bill which would protect traditional hunting ammunition and open additional land for hunting and fishing.

Foxx is a cosponsor of H.R. 2959, the National Right-to-Carry Reciprocity Act of 2013, which would protect the rights of law-abiding Americans with a valid concealed handgun permit, allowing them to carry in any other state that does not prohibit concealed carry.
In his endorsement letter to Foxx, NRA Political Victory Fund Chairman Chris W. Cox praised Foxx's record on Second Amendment rights:
