Once Again, Corporate Interests That Make Millions From Outsourcing American Jobs Spend Big to Support Their Former Massachusetts Ally
Manchester, NH -- Today, Shaheen Campaign Manger Mike Vlacich issued the following statement in response to the latest attack ad from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, which has a long record of supporting companies and policies that send American jobs overseas to places like China and Mexico.
"Since he was voted out of the Senate, Scott Brown has been paid more than a quarter of a million dollars by a company that shipped American jobs overseas, so it's no surprise at all that the pro-outsourcing Chamber of Commerce is now spending millions to get him back," said Vlacich. "When he represented Massachusetts, Scott Brown even voted to protect tax breaks for companies that send American jobs overseas. Big Oil, Wall Street, and corporate interests are spending millions to get Scott Brown in the Senate to vote to protect their special breaks not New Hampshire's."
Today's attack ad to support Scott Brown is not the first time the Chamber of Commerce has taken to the airwaves to support the former Massachusetts Senator and outsourcing ally. Earlier this month, the Chamber paid for an ad featuring failed Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney, whose campaign was largely defined by his record of supporting and financing companies who send American jobs overseas.
Earlier this month, legal documents made clear that Scott Brown endorsed the outsourcing policies of Kadant, Inc., a company wthat pays him $270,000 per year to serve on their board. Only 48 hours before he announced his run for Senate, Brown signed legal documents filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission that clearly state Kadant will "pursue a number of strategies to improve our internal growth including using low cost manufacturing bases, such as China and Mexico." Previous filings with the SEC that also have Brown's signature include the same language and endorsement of that policy.
