Cassidy Applauds Passage of His Bill to Allow Americans to Keep Healthcare Plans

Today, Congressman Bill Cassidy (R-LA) applauded the House of Representatives for passing legislation he introduced. The Employee Health Care Protection Act, H.R. 3522, will allow healthcare plans currently available on the group market to continue to be offered through 2018. The non-partisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) confirmed that this bill would lower the deficit by $1.25 billion, provide more health plan options with lower premiums, and raise wages for American workers.

Dr. Cassidy offered the following statement:

"The Employee Health Care Protection Act is about keeping a promise and doing right by the American people. It is a bi-partisan bill that allows American workers, if they choose, to keep their employer-sponsored healthcare plan that they depend on for healthcare security. Let's keep the promise to middle class workers and ensure that if they like their healthcare plan, they can keep it."
