Stutzman Addresses National Auto Dealers Association

U.S. Congressman Marlin Stutzman released the following statement after addressing the National Auto Dealers Association (NADA) about his proposed legislation to reform the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB).

"I was honored to speak to the National Auto Dealers Association this morning and champion H.R. 5403, the Reforming CFPB Indirect Auto Financing Guidance Act. It is important to engage our citizens about meaningful legislation that will have great impact on our economy and bring about much needed common sense reforms to the federal government.

"The auto industry back home in Indiana is a vital part of our economy, supporting almost 20,000 jobs and I fully intend to fight any bureaucratic overreach that will do more harm than good to American workers. I am looking forward to working with NADA and other groups to build support for this important bill," Stutzman said.

Background on HR. 5403: Reforming CFPB Indirect Auto Guidance Act
H.R. 5403, co-authored with Congressman Ed Perlmutter will rescind the CFPB's March 21st, 2013 auto lending guidance, require the agency to provide public comment period before reissuing any auto finance guidance and make public studies, data, and analyses on which any guidance is based.
