Cornyn: Senate Needs Change in Management

Press Release

Date: Sept. 16, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) today addressed the Democrat-controlled Senate's dysfunction, including the more than 300 bills passed by the U.S. House of Representatives that the Majority Leader refuses to allow votes on.

"So, going forward, I hope that if after November the 4th we have new management in the United States Senate we'll be able to take up good, commonsense legislation that will help deal with security: job security, national security, health care security.

"Those are the things that I hear from my constituents that they want Congress to roll up its sleeves and get to work on. But it's obvious that after this last couple of years, even longer, under the current Majority Leader that's not going to happen.

"So the only way it will happen is with a change in management on November the 4th."
