The role of Congress is to protect American citizens, our economy, and our resources. Congress needs firm leadership to lessen GHG emissions and to hold private companies accountable for environmental degradation while still encouraging economic growth. With the proper structures and incentives, businesses should be advocates for environmental stewardship and innovation, not opponents.

Climate change is the most important global issue we face today. It is Congress' job to ensure that the US is taking an active role in advancing a strong agenda to mitigate climate change and its effects. Massachusetts' 6th District voters have long been advocates for environmental issues, and I will work with leaders in both the House and Senate, including Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, toward a cleaner and healthier future.
