Blackburn Statement in Remembrance of 9/11

Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) issued the following statement on the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terror attacks on the United States:

"The day our nation came under attack from a cowardly evil is forever a part of our memory; impressed upon us out of a seemingly ordinary September day. Years have given time and distance from September 11, 2001, but our hearts are still heavy. We choose to remember not the gutless terrorists who brought down towers and walls, but the heroic men and women who rushed into the fires to rescue their neighbor. These men and women, ordinary heroes, are the legacy of that nightmarish day.

"Today, especially as we continue to battle the face of evil around the world, we remember the best of this mighty country -- those who day in and day out rush into the battle -- and the stalwart American perseverance that cannot be extinguished."
