Schumer, Gillibrand, Maffei, Miner Announce More Than $2.5 Million in Federal Funding for Syracuse Hancock Airport

U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, U.S. Representative Dan Maffei, and Syracuse Mayor Stephanie Miner today announced that the Syracuse Regional Airport Authority has been awarded $ 2,501,550 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation. The Airport Authority will use this grant to pave roads in disrepair and make upgrades to Airport storage facilities that house snow removal equipment.
"Making sure our airports are clear for takeoff will always be a top priority of mine," said Senator Schumer. "With this funding, the Syracuse Hancock Airport will be able to repave old roads and make critical upgrades to storage facilities. These crucial infrastructure repairs will help ensure the safety of all passengers and pilots that fly in and out of the airport each day. Keeping this airport in top-notch shape will allow it to continue to serve as a major economic driver for all of Central New York for years to come."
