Business Leaders Unite to Form Brown-Ulman Business Advisory Council

Today at a press conference at the Pottery Cove on Frederick Road, Lt. Governor Anthony Brown and Howard County Executive Ken Ulman were joined by business leaders from across Maryland to announce the Brown-Ulman Business Advisory Council. This group consists of 116 business leaders who endorsed the Brown-Ulman ticket -- small business owners and entrepreneurs who are working with Brown and Ulman to make Maryland the most competitive economy in the nation. They will also be providing their insights about the policies and practices that state government can implement to attract and retain more businesses and help them create more good-paying jobs.

"For the past several months, Ken and I brought the business community to the table to discuss ways to grow and strengthen our economy. Today we have over 100 leaders of the Brown-Ulman Business Advisory Council to help us set the right course for a better future," said Lt. Governor Anthony Brown. "Working with business owners, both big and small, the Brown-Ulman Administration will nurture economic growth and development with targeted tax relief for entrepreneurs, manufacturers and small and mid-size businesses. Larry Hogan would implement a dangerous agenda that would take Maryland backward by giving tax handouts to the biggest corporations -- the ones who need it the least, while ignoring the things that entrepreneurs, small, and midsize businesses need the most."

"That's why he's working with us to develop policies that will make it easier for small business owners and entrepreneurs like me to expand and hire more Marylanders. Larry Hogan's failed agenda would take Baltimore County backward by slashing investments in priorities like job training and education so he could give big corporations a $300 million tax giveaway."
