Udall for Colorado Releases New Ad, "Job"

Udall for Colorado today released the new television ad, "Job." The 30-second spot shows how Congressman Gardner joined with Tea Party radicals to recklessly shut down the federal government last fall, even though Coloradans were still struggling to recover and rebuild from historic floods.

The government shutdown delayed our flood recovery efforts, furloughed over 40,000 Colorado workers, and shuttered the national parks that businesses and communities rely on for a steady stream of visitors during the busy fall season. A spokesperson for Rocky Mountain National Park said that the shutdown that Gardner supported amounted to a "double-whammy" for the hard-hit area coming so closely after September's floods.

"Coloradans deserve elected officials who will always stand up and fight for them," said Senator Mark Udall. "When floods ravaged our state and brought us to our knees last fall, I worked relentlessly to ensure we had every resource needed to rebuild better and stronger than before. That's what leadership is all about, and Coloradans expect nothing less."

"At the time we were fighting to help Colorado recover from the floods, and Mark was leading those efforts, Congressman Gardner voted to shut the government down," said Sen. Michael Bennet. "I think that should be disqualifying to be in the United States Senate."
