Issue Position

*I support enacting a Balanced Budget Amendment. A Balanced Budget Amendment would prevent the federal government from spending outside its means. Families across West Michigan have to sit down and balance their budget. The State of Michigan has to pass a balanced budget every year; it's commonsense that Washington should have to do the same.

*We don't have a tax problem, we have a spending problem. I will continue to vote against measures that increase spending and raise taxes. The answer to the red ink under control is simply to eliminate spending, and the Balanced Budget Amendment will help us do so.
