"The greatest threat to our American democracy is the corrosive effect of money in politics. In a horribly misguided decision in Citizens United, the Supreme Court opened the floodgates of corporate spending in federal elections."

Congressman Welch:

-Is a cosponsor of three constitutional amendments to overturn Citizens United;

-Co-authored legislation that would end the influence of big money in politics by publicly financing federal elections; and

-Is leading a House effort to pressure federal agencies to aggressively police political campaigns until Citizens United is overturned.
