Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement on the tragic death of Kimball Union Academy graduate Steven Sotloff:

"Steven Sotloff was a courageously intrepid journalist whose versatile reporting gave voice to countless civilians in some of the world's most dangerous zones of conflict. As a student at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire, he developed a passion for reporting and writing, a gift that he shared with people around the world, and this unthinkable act of terror has taken him from us far too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with the Sotloff family and their loved ones, and I join people across the globe in mourning this tragic loss."
