Statement

I had another excellent week in the 32nd Congressional District meeting with fellow North Texans, visiting new medical facilities, and participating in discussions with Texas business leaders.

Meeting with National Utility Contractors Association
On Tuesday I met with representatives from the National Utility Contractors Association (NUCA) to talk about the importance of improving conditions in underground infrastructures across the United States. We also discussed the negative effects of burdensome regulations to which member companies are subject and how these regulations are hindering their growth. I always value listening to the concerns of local members of the business community and discussing my efforts to ensure their businesses can grow and thrive.

New Parkland Hospital Site Tour
On Monday morning I had the opportunity to tour the new, state of the art Parkland Hospital in Dallas. The new 2.5 million-square-feet campus is nearly twice the size of the current hospital and has been meticulously designed to meet the ever-changing needs of Dallas, since it is one of the largest, fastest-growing regions in the country. I am delighted to have a medical facility in Dallas that gives North Texans access to local medical care.

Discussions with TX-32 Business Leaders
Dallas Regional Chamber Congressional Forum
On Tuesday morning I was pleased to participate in the Dallas Regional Chamber Congressional Forum with my friends Chairman Jeb Hensarling and Congressman Ralph Hall. We addressed a variety of issues ranging from our current border security crisis, the disastrous effects of ObamaCare, and the Obama Administration's policies that have harmed our country at home and abroad. I always enjoy sitting down with my colleagues and discussing important issues facing our North Texas community as well as our country as a whole.

First North American Sustainable Economic Development Summit
On Tuesday afternoon I attended the First North American Sustainable Economic Development Summit to address multiple issues that are currently impacting our economy, including the importance of North American energy independence, infrastructure development, and border security. I addressed the critical nature of our relations abroad and protecting our trade relationships.

9th Annual National Tooling and Machining Association North Texas Chapter Dinner
On Thursday evening I spoke at the 9th Annual Dinner for the North Texas Chapter of the National Tooling and Machining Association. I was proud to present scholarships from the National Tooling and Machining Association to two very deserving students who have shown immense interest in the machining industry. After the scholarship presentation, I discussed the current state of our economy and my efforts to help facilitate a robust job market to ensure Americans have the opportunities they need and deserve.
