Zinke, Congressman Walden Focus on Bringing High-Tech Jobs to Montana

Earlier today Ryan Zinke, candidate for Montana's lone Congressional seat, was joined by Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR) to tour Zoot Enterprises, Inc., discuss business development and how to improve Montana's technology infrastructure.

Zoot, which had its humble beginning in a Bozeman basement, has grown to be one of the largest employers in the area, and in Montana's tech sector. The prospering company is involved in everything from providing vital security and credit report processing software for financial firms to real-estate investment and remote control helicopters.

Congressman Greg Walden (R-OR), Chair of the House Subcommittee on Communication and Technology and of the National Republican Central Committee (NRCC), emphasized that Zinke's breadth of experience as a business owner provides him with a genuine understanding of what cutting edge businesses need to succeed in Montana.

"Creating high-tech jobs that meet the needs of 21st century businesses requires providing a friendly regulatory environment for businesses and entrepreneurs," said Congressman Walden, "Ryan Zinke is dedicated to cultivating job and business growth across the state and the nation, which is just one of the many reasons we are confident in his chances of being successfully elected to represent Montana this November."

During discussions with Zoot, Zinke focused on how the company was started, the major challenges they encountered, and struggles they have had with different types of government regulations as they continue to expand their operations--not just within the state of Montana, but globally.

"One of the issues facing many tech startups in Montana is a lack of sufficient infrastructure," said Zinke. "At a time when the demand for skilled employees in the tech sector is high, we need to make sure that not only does our regulatory environment foster job creation, but that our infrastructure system does as well."

Upon conclusion on the tour Zinke stated that removing the regulatory burden placed on businesses, as well as improving access to high speed internet and cell service are among his top priorities.
