New TV Ad Highlights Tillis' Working-Class Values

Press Release

Date: Aug. 18, 2014

The Thom Tillis campaign today released a new television ad titled "Kitchen," which focuses on Tillis' working-class values.

The ad will be airing in the Asheville, Charlotte, Greensboro, Greenville, Raleigh-Durham, and Wilmington markets.

Tillis' humble upbringing personifies the American Dream. He was raised in a working-class family with his parents and five siblings. His family lived on the economic bubble and moved from state to state depending on where his father could find jobs, living in a trailer park at one point.

Tillis got his first job as a paperboy and then worked as a short-order cook when he was 15. After graduating near the top of his high school class, Tillis couldn't afford college, so he got a job as a warehouse records clerk.

The tremendous work ethic Tillis inherited from his parents enabled him to quickly rise up the ranks in the business world, eventually becoming a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM.

As Speaker of the North Carolina House, Tillis has expanded opportunities for working and middle-class families and small businesses through bipartisan pro-growth and job-creating policies.

"KITCHEN"

TILLIS: Tired of being disgusted by the news?

Washington has completely lost touch with working Americans.

The federal budget is a joke, and senators never pay the price.

I'm Thom Tillis. I came up in the real world.

I've been a paperboy, a short-order cook, a warehouse clerk, and eventually a partner at IBM.

The Senate could use more people who had to sweat for a living. And fewer of the politicians who made this mess.

I'm Thom Tillis. I approved this message. Let's make this right.
