Two More National Vets Groups Endorse Senator-Soldier Lee Zeldin for Congress

Senator and Army Reserve Major Lee Zeldin, Republican and Conservative Party candidate for Congress in New York's First Congressional District, today announced the endorsement of the national veterans groups, Support and Defend PAC, and the National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition.

Support and Defend PAC is a coalition of veteran leaders focused on increasing veteran representation at the local, state and federal levels of government. The group is particularly focused on advocating for the continued service of veteran leaders from Iraq and Afghanistan.

The National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition is a coalition of 70 veteran organizations and veterans advocacy groups and represents over 250,000 veterans.
In 1975, over 70% of those elected had served in the armed forces. Currently, less than 20% of U.S. Representatives have served in the military.

"I am honored to have the support of my fellow veterans. The endorsements of Support and Defend PAC and The National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition are especially important to me because I believe in their mission and because they share my core values. Veteran representation in Congress is needed now more than ever," said Senator Zeldin.

"Lee is a remarkable leader and will be instrumental in getting our country back on track," said Grant Moody, President and Founder of Support and Defend PAC. "We are very excited to support Lee and very much look forward to him serving the great people of New York."

In a letter to Senator Zeldin, John J. Molloy, Chairman of The National Vietnam and Gulf War Veterans Coalition, said, "Your leadership and patriotism are especially needed in the House of Representatives at this particular time in history."

Army Reserve Major and Senator Lee Zeldin served as a Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army in Iraq and currently serves as an Army Reservist.
