NFIB Names Zeldin One of Top Two Pro-Business Senators in New York State

The National Federation of Independent Business, the country's leading small business advocacy group, has just announced that Senator Lee Zeldin, Republican and Conservative Party candidate for Congress in New York's First Congressional District, received the top score in New York State as a lawmaker who supports pro-business legislation.

Every year, the NFIB releases grades on a scale of one to 100 to show voters a lawmakers' support for pro-business legislation. Senator Zeldin was named one of the top two Senators in New York to receive the top score of 91%.

"I am very proud of being named by the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) as one of two Senators in New York to receive the top score from their yearly small business scorecard," said Senator Zeldin.

His opponent, Congressman Tim Bishop, has a lifetime pro-business voting record of 21% by the NFIB.

Senator Zeldin concluded, "I have always fought to protect small businesses in New York State and my voting record shows that I have followed through. This has included leading the effort to successfully repeal the MTA Payroll Tax for 80 percent of employers. As your next Congressman, I will continue fighting to protect small businesses and create good paying jobs on Long Island."

In January of 2014, the NFIB announced their endorsement for Senator Zeldin's congressional campaign. Endorsements are based on a candidate's voting record on issues such as taxes, labor, regulatory issues and health care.
