Keating, Kennedy Announce Justice Assistance Grant for Fall River

Today, Representatives Bill Keating and Joseph Kennedy III announced a total of $94,386 in Bureau of Justice Assistance Grants (JAG) for the City of Fall River. This money will fund the purchase of a new command center vehicle, equipment for the command center, and a new cruiser.

"It is important to recognize the many responsibilities that our local law enforcement personnel bear every day, and for this reason I have been an avid supporter of DoJ's JAG program while in Congress," said Rep. Keating. "I know I speak for many when I say that I am very grateful for the work our police officers do to keep our communities safe. This funding will help the Fall River Police Department deliver services to our community through the purchase of vital equipment, and I am honored to do what I can to help those who work so hard to protect us."

"This grant will help law enforcement officials across Bristol County coordinate to keep our communities safe," said Rep. Kennedy. "From equipment and technology upgrades to expanding the capacity of our local forces, this funding will provide key support to the men and women working tirelessly to reduce crime and protect public safety across Fall River, New Bedford, Taunton and Attleboro."
