Ayotte: Administration Needs to Provide Strategy to Address ISIS Threat

U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) today released the following statement regarding reports that the terrorist group ISIS is seeking to expand its network beyond the Middle East, posing an increasingly serious security threat to the U.S. and Western Europe:

"As ISIS-a well-armed, funded, and organized force-seeks to develop terrorist cells outside of the Middle East, it is also expanding and solidifying its control of an enormous safe haven in the heart of the Middle East that can be used to train terrorists and launch attacks against our homeland and our allies.

"Yet, this administration's approach in Iraq dangerously fails to acknowledge this reality. The growing threat of ISIS to our homeland demands a serious strategy now to prevent another Afghanistan, where terrorists had a safe haven to launch attacks against our country."
