Maryland State Fraternal Order of Police Endorses Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman

This morning the Maryland State Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) voted to endorse Anthony Brown for Governor and Ken Ulman for Lt. Governor at their convention in Solomons Maryland. The Maryland State FOP represents law enforcement officers across the state. In their endorsement, Maryland State FOP President-elect Vince Canales cited Brown's military service and commitment to providing our officers with the tools and resources they need to continue driving crime to record lows.

FOP rules required a vote of support by more than 60% of the FOP members for an endorsement.

"I want to thank each and every one of our law enforcement officers for the important work they do every day protecting our neighborhoods and communities across Maryland," said Lt. Governor Anthony Brown. "Because of the dedication and hard work of our officers, Maryland has driven crime to record lows and I'm committed to providing our law enforcement officials with the resources they need to continue getting the job done. This election is about a choice between two very different futures for our state, and I want to thank the Maryland State Fraternal Order of Police for choosing to support the Brown-Ulman vision of strengthening working families and standing up for middle-class values."

"For 30 years, Anthony Brown served our nation in the United States Army and, just like all of our police officers, he knows what it means to put his life on the line," said Maryland State FOP President-elect Vince Canales. "In the last year, we've driven crime to record lows and I know that Anthony Brown will continue working to ensure that our officers have the tools they need to keep our streets safe. The Maryland State Fraternal Order of Police is proud to endorse Anthony Brown and Ken Ulman in this election and our officers will be working hard to help them win on November 4th."

"As our next Governor and Lt. Governor, I know that Anthony and Ken will work every day to make sure that our law enforcement officers have the resources they need to get the job done."

Today, Vince Canales was also elected as the incoming president of the Maryland State FOP.
