Pete Sessions Statement on July Jobs Report

Statement

Date: Aug. 1, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX-32), Chairman of the House Rules Committee and a Member of House Republican Leadership, today released the following statement regarding the July unemployment report:

"While it is always welcome news when additional Americans are able to find work, all Americans deserve the opportunity to find good-paying, full-time jobs. The Obama Administration has repeatedly promised a big economic recovery, but it has taken six years to see any real signs of reliable economic growth. The American people should not have to wait more than half of a decade for consistent job creation and growth.

"House Republicans understand what it takes to create a robust economy. We have sent dozens of pro-growth jobs bills to the Senate where they remain buried on Harry Reid's desk. The Senate's inaction on the priorities of the American people is simply unacceptable. I remain committed to fighting for common sense solutions that will reinvigorate the economy and give Americans access to the jobs that they need and deserve."
