Mother, soldier, independent leader, and Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Iowa, Joni Ernst, issued the following statement on the final passage of the Veterans overhaul bill:
"The lack of care for those who have sacrificed so much is unacceptable just as it is that many in Washington shirked their oversight responsibilities and let it go on for so long. After months of stalling and delaying, Congress has finally taken action towards fixing our broken Veterans system. I promise that when I am in the Senate, I will finish the job and make sure of Veterans receive and have access to the best care our nation has to offer."
