Zinke Calls for Action to Save U.S. Marine Held Hostage in Mexico

Ryan Zinke, Montana candidate for U.S. Congress, Navy SEAL, and former commander at SEAL Team Six, has called on the Obama Administration to take action to bring Marine Sgt. Tahmooresi home to Weston, Florida.

Sgt. Tahmooresi, 26, has been languishing in a Mexican prison since March 31, when Mexican police arrested him after accidently driving across the Mexican border.

"The fact that President Obama has exhibited such carelessness towards Sgt. Tahmooresi is appalling," said Zinke. "Our President left troops behind in Benghazi, and his lack of action shows that he is once again, willing to leave behind a man who has bravely served our country."

In light of the President's lack of action to bring home Sgt. Tahmooresi, his causal response to the pro-Russian separatists' targeting of innocent civilians, and his focus on trading terrorists for the return of a deserter, it is clear that the Obama administration has prioritized his political fundraisers over the lives of those who serve our country and its citizens.

"The President should be using all available means to return Sgt. Tahmooresi," continued Zinke. "He should immediately close the border until Sgt. Tahmooresi and mobilize the 1st marine division to the border until Sgt. Tahmooresi is returned home. Our service member is being treated like a POW and President Obama has spent more time trading a deserter for terrorists and attending fundraising events than he has spent helping a young Marine."
