U.S. Senator Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) released the statement below regarding her vote to confirm Robert McDonald as the next Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). McDonald was approved in a vote of 97 to 0:
"With a decades-long record of delivering results in the private sector, Robert McDonald is well-positioned to bring accountability and transparency to the VA. The VA is in need of urgent reform to immediately improve the delivery of care to our veterans, and Secretary McDonald has committed to working with Congress to fix the fundamental problems at the VA."
