Governor Hassan's Statement on Superior Court Order Striking Down an Unconstitutional Burden on Voting

Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after a New Hampshire Superior Court judge ruled that a 2012 law requiring a change to the voter registration form violates the New Hampshire Constitution:
"I oppose this law, which attempted to undermine the fundamental right to vote, a right that is the cornerstone of our democratic society. Like many New Hampshire citizens, I am appalled by efforts to place roadblocks between citizens and the ballot, and I appreciate today's decision, which will help ensure that all of our citizens can exercise their constitutional right to vote without obstruction."
