Issue Position: Ensuring Access to Quality Health Care

Issue Position

I have spent my entire adult life providing quality health care to children, adults, families and communities. I have treated thousands of patients and have seen firsthand that primary care can prevent or mitigate the effects of chronic illnesses, saving lives as well as dollars. I will work hard to increase access to health care for North Carolinians, not only for those who need Medicaid to protect their health and treat their illnesses, but also for those who have insurance but live in the many health care provider shortage areas in our state. There is more to health care access than carrying an insurance card. As your representative I will work for effective policies that ensure that our citizens have access to the health care professionals they need regardless of where they live.
