Eric Johnson, a Savannah businessman and former State Senator who held the position of Senate Pro Tempore has joined John McCallum and others by endorsing Senator Buddy Carter to replace Jack Kingston in Congress in the First District of Georgia.

"Eric Johnson was a great state senator and played a major role in laying the foundation for the Republican Party in Georgia to be successful," said Senator Buddy Carter. "To earn the endorsement from someone I have admired for so long is a great accomplishment."

The endorsement from Eric Johnson could prove big for the Carter Campaign. When he ran for governor in 2010, Johnson won eight of the district's seventeen counties, compiling almost forty percent of the district's votes.

"Buddy Carter is a family man and a man of great faith. He is a respected business man, pharmacist and conservative, said former Senate President Pro Tempore Eric Johnson. "Buddy has a proven conservative track record that has produced real results. I am proud to support his candidacy to be the next congressman in Georgia's First District."
