Rep. Capito Praises CDC's Decision on MCHM Testing

Statement

Date: July 23, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) issued the following statement today regarding the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's announcement on MCHM:

"I am pleased that the CDC has recognized that more information is needed about the effects of MCHM. As we learned in January, very little is known about this chemical, which is why I worked with my fellow members of West Virginia's congressional delegation to ask the CDC to conduct further study of MCHM. I have met repeatedly with state and CDC officials to discuss this request, and the CDC's actions will help us better understand the impact of human exposure to this chemical."
