Congressman Morgan Griffith (R-VA) released the following statement today after learning that Arch Coal will be idling its Cumberland River Coal Co. complex, which is in Wise County, Virginia and Letcher County, Kentucky:

"I am saddened by news that the Central Appalachian region will be losing Cumberland River Coal Co. My heart goes out to the coal miners who will be losing their jobs, and to their families as well.
