Van Hollen Statement on OMB's Mid-Session Review

Statement

Date: July 11, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

Today Maryland Congressman Chris Van Hollen, Ranking Member of the House Budget Committee, issued the following statement on the Office of Management and Budget's (OMB) Mid-Session Review:

"Today's Mid-Session review shows that we are on the right track -- we've cut the deficit by more than half as a share of the economy since President Obama took office, and deficits are down even further than expected this year and next year. There is no question we need to do more to get our fiscal house in order over the long term, and the fastest and most effective way to do that is to put Americans back to work. Democrats' priorities remain job creation and making sure our economy works for all families."
