In the Attorney General's Office, Maura was a champion for people with disabilities in ensuring access to education, employment, housing, transportation and public accommodation. Maura achieved a landmark settlement with Apple, Inc. to ensure that the iTunes education platform was accessible to blind and other print disabled users. Understanding that people with disabilities are disproportionately under or unemployed, she reached an agreement with Monster.com to make sure its job website and mobile applications were accessible. She also worked to achieve a settlement agreement with the country's three largest movie theaters companies so that people who are visually-impaired or deaf can enjoy the movie-going experience, and to make ATMs accessible. She also aggressively investigated and brought cases against landlords, employers, and storeowners who failed to meet the needs of people with disabilities.

As the next Attorney General, Maura will continue to be a champion of disability rights. She knows that technology can be a tool that allows individuals to overcome the limitations of their disabilities, but it can also be a means of exclusion if it is not accessible. She will continue to push for the use of inclusive technology, whether it is at the workplace or in the classroom. She will ensure buildings are constructed with access in mind, that employers accommodate the needs of their employees, and that no business refuses to serve someone because they have a service animal.
