Joyce Votes to Boost Charitable Giving by Fixing Tax Code

U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) released the following statement today after voting in favor of the America Gives More Act (H.R. 4719), a package of five bills to foster charitable giving.

"America ranks as the world's most charitable nation, so we need to ensure our tax laws support these acts of service," Joyce said. "We know Washington has a bad habit of not spending money wisely. This bill makes a number of charitable deductions permanent so that Americans can choose to spend more of their hard-earned dollars to help those among us who need it most, rather than handing their money over to the IRS. Local charitable organizations, including many right here in Northeast Ohio, know their communities and do an excellent job providing for those who need a helping hand. This bill empowers Americans to help these groups receive the resources they need."
