Minot, Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Bowman, and Jamestown Airports Receive Federal Grants

Airports in Minot, Grand Forks, Devils Lake, Bowman, and Jamestown will receive a combined total of more than $17.2 million in federal grants from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Congressman Kevin Cramer said the funds will be put to use on a variety of construction and safety projects which will help the airports keep up with increased boardings.

"North Dakota's growing prosperity places demands on all of our airports. Boardings have nearly doubled over the last decade and airline departures have grown 50%. These funds will help our airports deal with a wide range of capacity and safety needs which accompany increasing traffic," said Cramer.

Minot International Airport will receive $8,967,973 to complete phase 3 construction on its D taxiway, Grand Forks International Airport will receive $4,146,407 to construct an additional taxiway, Devils Lake Regional Airport will receive $1,212,729 to acquire an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle as well as construct a runway safety area, the Bowman County Airport Authority will receive $2,150,000 for continuing construction of its new airport which is scheduled for completion in 2015, and Jamestown Regional Airport will receive $806,937 for an aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicle.
