In the wake of the refugee crisis, Carl DeMaio reiterated his call for border security.
"Scott Peters continues to peddle the same failed immigration policies that have resulted in the distressing flood of immigrants that San Diego is now being forced to house.
I'm very concerned for the safety and wellbeing of the children put in the middle of this mess, and upset that the Obama Administration and Congressman Peters have abdicated responsibility and expect San Diegans to pay the costs."
We must secure the border -- period. Any immigration reform discussion must make border security a prerequisite and foundation for any other reforms.
It's time to put aside partisan politics and solve the problem."
