Today, Congressman Ken Calvert (CA-42), who serves as Chairman of the Interior and Environment Appropriations Subcommittee, released the Fiscal Year 2015 Interior and Environment Appropriations bill. The bill provides annual funding for the Interior Department, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other agencies and commissions. The bill was approved by the Interior Subcommittee by voice vote and will be considered by the full Appropriations Committee in the near future.
"The Interior and Environment bill provides the agencies within its jurisdiction with the resources necessary to carry out their mission in times that are fiscally challenging," said Rep. Calvert. "This bill also protects Americans from the onslaught of job-killing regulations coming from the EPA, and makes difficult decisions that carefully balance national priorities. I am pleased that our Subcommittee continues to place an emphasis on producing energy on federal lands, providing robust funding for our wildland fire accounts, and addressing a variety of health and safety needs within Indian Country. I am especially proud that we have been able to extend and pay for the PILT program, which provides critical resources to so many communities, such as Riverside County, throughout the country."
