Governor Maggie Hassan issued the following statement after today signing SB 215, a bipartisan measure authorizing benefit corporations:
"To help New Hampshire businesses grow and thrive, and keep our economy moving in the right direction, we must ensure that our state government remains responsive to the needs of the business community. The New Hampshire Benefit Corporation Act, SB 215, increases corporate options for our New Hampshire businesses who are committed not just to profit but also to social and environmental responsibility. I thank Senator Kelly and legislators from both parties for passing this bipartisan measure to support innovative, socially responsible businesses, and I am pleased to sign it into law."
