Governor Maggie Hassan today announced that Department of Information Technology (DoIT) Commissioner Peter Hastings will step down on August 1, 2014, to take a job in the private sector. Following Commissioner Hastings' decision, Governor Maggie Hassan released the following statement:

"During his tenure at the Department of Information Technology, Peter Hastings led innovations in state government, enhancing IT solutions and improving the efficiency of state services in order to better serve people and businesses throughout New Hampshire. Last month, he led DoIT's efforts to acquire new technology that makes it possible for state agencies to move all possible business-related forms online, which will help make our nimble state government even more responsive to the needs of job-creating businesses.

"It is hard to see him move on, but I wish Peter the very best in his future endeavors. I will work to nominate a highly qualified replacement as quickly as possible."
