Jeff Gorell Remains Silent On Supreme Court Ruling that Puts Corporate Ahead of Women's Health

In the wake of last week's Supreme Court ruling that puts corporations in charge of women's access to healthcare, Jeff Gorell has remained disturbingly silent more than a week later.

"Ventura County women deserve to know where Jeff Gorell stands on the Supreme Court ruling that impacts their health care options and economic stability," said Jacob Dusseau, Brownley Campaign Manager. "Women in California deserve someone who shares their values and will always stand up for women's health care rights, not a candidate who puts corporate rights ahead of women's rights."

Congresswoman Julia Brownley has earned a 100% lifetime score from Planned Parenthood for her record of standing up for women's rights and has been an outspoken critic of the Supreme Court ruling that would allow corporate bosses to deny critical health care protections for their women employees.

Jeff Gorell has received two ZERO ratings from Planned Parenthood and a 90% rating from the anti-choice California Pro Life Council based on his legislative record on women's issues in Sacramento and has refused to comment on the Supreme Court Hobby Lobby ruling that would take away critical protections for women's health care.

In 2012, Gorell received a 90% approval rating from the anti-abortion group, California Pro-Life Council. Furthermore, Gorell was never endorsed by the group both times he was elected to a seat in the Assembly, in 2010 and 2012.
