Rep. Paul Ryan: Shelley Moore Capito is Working for West Virginia

Today, Congressman Paul Ryan -- the 2012 vice presidential nominee -- and West Virginia U.S. Senate candidate Shelley Moore Capito hosted a roundtable discussion about getting West Virginia's economy back on track.

"It's time to get West Virginia back to work, and that starts with sending Shelley to the Senate," said Congressman Ryan. "Few states have been hit harder by President Obama's devastating policies than West Virginia, but Shelley Moore Capito has been right there on the front lines fighting back. She has put forward solutions in the House to create jobs and to create a better West Virginia for hard working taxpayers. She is dedicated to her state and to the people she represents, and I can tell you no one will fight harder for West Virginia in the Senate than Shelley Moore Capito."

Small business owners, job seekers and members of the business community from around the state gathered in Charleston, W. Va. to discuss the biggest issues facing the state's economy: President Obama's war on coal, small businesses and job creators.
"West Virginians told us today that they want their next Senator to stand up for an all-of-the-above energy agenda that embraces coal. They want someone who will fix the problems with Obamacare. And, they want someone who will stop strangling regulations from killing jobs and small businesses. That's exactly what I'm prepared to do," said Shelley Moore Capito.

"With a President who is against us, West Virginia needs a Senator who will fight back, not fall in line with his job-killing agenda. Congressman Ryan are I are standing up to these harmful policies, and we share a commitment to putting this state, and nation, on a path to a stronger economy," added Capito.

Shelley Moore Capito has a proven record of putting hard-working West Virginians first. Highlights include:

Successfully overturning regulations that limited access to credit for stay at home moms and first-time home buyers.

Supporting legislation to increase worker training and job opportunities for veterans.
Protecting West Virginia's community lenders, which help West Virginians get access to credit so that they can put a roof over their head, start a business or buy a car.

Fighting tooth and nail against the war on coal, ObamaCare and job-killing regulations.

While Shelley Moore Capito and Congressman Ryan today spoke the path toward a stronger West Virginia, Natalie Tennant campaigned with Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren, a staunchly anti-coal activist and defender of the policies that are choking West Virginia's economy.
