Issue Position

Date: Jan. 1, 2014

Mike Dovilla believes all Ohioans who want to work deserve the opportunity to find a good paying job. Dovilla understands the meaning of hard work and personal responsibility. He paid his own way through college by working in restaurants and later putting in 14 hour days with the U.S. Navy in Iraq. While the gridlock in Washington has caused economic uncertainty throughout the country, Mike Dovilla has worked tirelessly in turning things around in Ohio, laying the foundation for a return to economic prosperity. Dovilla is committed to supporting job creating proposals that will help continue to lower Ohio's unemployment rate and get dedicated Ohioans back to work again. There are still many hurdles we face as a state, but Mike Dovilla believes controlling government spending and lowering our taxes is the quickest way to economic recovery for Ohio's families and small businesses.

As an entrepreneur, Mike Dovilla understands the challenges of running a small business in northeast Ohio. As your State Representative, he remains committed to helping Ohio maintain its existing jobs and creating new opportunities for employment. That's why Dovilla wasted no time in supporting House Bill 1, which created JobsOhio, a non-profit economic development organization focused on fostering a more responsive business climate in the state of Ohio that will bring new jobs and industries to our state while improving job prospects for companies already located here. Since Dovilla supported JobsOhio there have been over 94,300 jobs created or retained, bringing nearly $5 billion of invested payroll to Ohio and putting more money back into the pockets of hard working Ohioans.
