U.S. Rep. Todd Rokita released the following statement commending the ruling by the Supreme Court in favor of Hobby Lobby Stores, Inc. and Conestoga Wood Specialties Corp. in the case Burwell v. Hobby Lobby (formerly named Sebelius v. Hobby Lobby). The decision protects family-owned businesses from mandates and fines by the federal government that would force them to violate their religious beliefs.
"Today's ruling by the Supreme Court reaffirms our religious freedoms enshrined in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The Obama Administration has no business forcing family-owned employers to violate their moral and religious convictions through heavy-handed government mandates," said Rokita.
