Cotton Accepts KARK-FOX16 Invite To Debate

U.S. Senate candidate Tom Cotton announced today he has accepted a televised debate invitation from KARK-FOX16, bringing the total number of debates he has accepted to include three. Senator Mark Pryor, however, continues his refusal to debate. Cotton has also accepted debate invitations from KATV in Little Rock and KAIT in Jonesboro (hosted by the NEA Political Animals Club).

The KARK-FOX16 debate proposal will devote a portion of the format to allowing the two candidates to directly question each other, which fits into the "Lincoln-Douglas" style format proposed by the Cotton campaign in August. The debate is tentatively scheduled to take place in September if Senator Pryor agrees to debate. This debate will also be carried by KNWA in Northwest Arkansas, KTVE in Monroe, KTAL in Shreveport, and WATN in Memphis.

Tom Cotton said: "I'm ready to give the people of Arkansas the debate they deserve in this race for U.S. Senate, and I want to thank the stations who have extended these opportunities to allow the voters to see and hear from both candidates. It's time for Senator Pryor to stop refusing to debate and defend his record of supporting President Obama 90% of the time."

The Cotton campaign released a new website yesterday, www.RetirePryor.com, which includes a debate clock displaying the number of days that have passed since Tom Cotton issues his debate challenge to Senator Pryor.
