Joyce Votes to Boost American Energy Independence

Statement

Date: June 26, 2014
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) released the following statement after voting this week in favor of H.R. 3301, the North American Energy Infrastructure Act; H.R. 6, the Domestic Prosperity and Global Freedom Act; and H.R. 4899, the Lowering Gas Prices to Fuel an America that Works Act.

"One thing I firmly believe is that we can't control our own future if we don't own more of our future," Joyce said. "The legislation passed in the House this week will help make energy more affordable and accessible while jumpstarting our economy here at home. From boosting natural gas production to preventing Keystone-like delays in future energy infrastructure projects, these bills are practical steps to curb the volatility in our energy costs and lessen price spikes at the pump. With many Ohio families soon to hit the road for the Fourth of July holiday, we can't overlook the importance of an all-of-the-above energy policy to ease the burden on families' budgets."
