The only way to ensure the investments each and every one of us makes -- towards our community and state -- are not squandered is by increasing the ability for us to track where the money is going. This means strengthening existing accountability and transparency measures. Recent scandals at the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation and in the K-12 voucher program, as well as Wisconsin's increasing pay-to-play culture illustrate the importance of adopting additional accountability and transparency measures to ensure our shared investments are not squandered by those in charge.
