Lujan Grisham Releases Statement In Response to President's Remarks on Immigration Reform

Statement

Date: June 30, 2014
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Today, U.S. Rep. Michelle Lujan Grisham released the following statement in response to President Obama's announcement that he plans to take administrative action to address problems with the country's immigration policies.

"The President's request for more funding is just another Band-Aid on our broken immigration system. We need to put more pressure on the Republican leadership to do the right thing and allow an up-or-down vote. I'm pleased that Governor Martinez expressed an interest last week in the immigration reform debate. I think she could be particularly helpful, and I would urge the Governor to lobby Speaker Boehner and her fellow Republicans in Congress to put comprehensive immigration reform to a vote."
