As a father of four, Doug understands how important it is to provide our children with a quality education. Investing in education is the best investment we can make in our future.

Early childhood education increases the effectiveness of all future education investments. By increasing access to Head Start and full-day kindergarten, we are laying a strong foundation for our children's academic and economic future.

Decisions regarding education are best made by Utah parents, teachers, and local administrators. Federal support of Utah K-12 public education should be responsible and accountable to local needs, rather than tied to Washington-based, one-size-fits-all requirements.

To restore the American Dream, it is critical that all Utahns have access to a world-class college education. 150,000 Utah students, approximately 85% of all Utah college students, rely on Federal student aid to support their dream to obtain a college degree. Doug supports responsible Federal student aid programs that ensure access to college. Student aid repayments should be indexed to income in order to increase repayment rates.

As your voice in Congress, Doug will:

* Support early childhood education, including Head Start and full-day kindergarten
* Reform Federal K-12 programs to increase local accountability and flexibility for parents, teachers, and administrators
* Support Federal student aid grants and loans to ensure access to higher education
* Oppose radical proposals to eliminate student aid
